Sadly I agree. I think stores are hoping they can get rid of the stock by Thursday, but Verizon could easily throw another wrench in our plans.
Wonder if anyone has thought about this. Maybe verizon doesn't want to release it so fast after their newest and baddest phone (razor) wasn't launched that long ago. Still lots of marketing out there for it. Employee's pushing it for sales etc. It would take a back seat to the nexus and they would loose out on all the money they invested in promoting it. Just a thought.
If this delay had anything to do with sales numbers, that I don't think it would be just Verizon. I think it would be more of a Motorola thing. Motorola and Verizon seem to have a nice little thing going on together. Who knows. Maybe they have some sort of agreement where Motorola gets prime advertising and promotion with the Droid name. Kinda like how Budweiser and Coke/Pepsi products dominate store shelves while lesser known products are pushed to the side.
Think about it. For Verizon, a sale is a sale. I don't even think they make that much off phone sales since the price is subsidized and they're charging much less than the MSRP. They could care less if you buy phone A or phone B, as long as they have you hooked on a contract with a data plan.
This always baffles me as well, Verizon doesn't care at all which phone you pick as long as you're getting a data plan.
There has to be some back room deal with Motorola for them to push Moto's products so much more than others. I mean it's highly evident with the Rezound vs the Razr right now.
