As everyone in the sports world has said, there's two sides to this situation. One, you've lost a teammate and a friend. The other, he can't be forgiven for taking another life before his own. It's really a situation that in any case, outside judgement loses. I do, however, think that the game should've been postponed out of respect for the organization, community, and the victim's family. To continue on as normally as possible as if it were a regular Sunday game is a bit disrespectful to me, it's a murder-suicide, not an unfortunate death due to illness or accident. I wonder how the coach and GM feel. Witnessing a suicide is a traumatic event and even though they won, I wonder if the HC was in any condition to be on that sideline. The players are going through alot of emotions as well, whether to mourn their teammates passing or to be angry with him and his selfish acts. I can't even imagine what they're going through. For me, I honestly don't know what to think. I've known people who were deep in depression who contemplated suicide, and I'm thankful they didn't go that route, but it's very scary to see someone you know and care about go through that. So I wonder, did the player seek help at any point? Also, him taking his gf's life is to me, unforgivable. I don't know the reasons behind why he did it, and I don't think anyone ever will, but to me there is no valid reason for taking someone else's life. If it were just a suicide then there would be less confusion, but in this specific case, alot of people are left more confused than ever.
