I'm on a Droid 1, been waiting a long time to upgrade and finally want to take the jump. I know opinions vary on peoples favorites but what's the most powerful (verizon) phone available right now, as far as functional speed goes? I don't necessarily care about rooting, I just want something that's fast and will last me for as long as possible.

At this point you could just wai for the newest tech in the sgs3 or Droid "vanquish". But as of right now I would say the 2 best phones on vzw right now would be the droid razr maxx and the Galaxy nexus. The Galaxy Nexus is build solid and offers more options for those who like to run roms. If you looking for a solid device with accesories and better radios and do not mind a locked bootloader go razr maxx.

I agree but also would throw in The Bionic as one of the phones available right now :)

If you don't care about rooting I say get the Razr Maxx. The Maxx also has better radios. If you want to Root and ROM get the Galaxy Nexus.

When does the incredible launch? that phone seems great from what I read about. Slightly better specs with newer hardware, seems good.

Even though the op has made a choice I just wanted to give the Rezound a little love in this thread for future reference. Better screen than the Max, with an extended battery just as much life, very few bugs or issues, far fewer than either the Nexus or Maxx, solid radio, best camera of ANY phone on VZ including the 4S. Overall when you look at the total package its the best of the three. IMHO

That is a sweet phone. Too bad we'll never see the One X on VZ. That is the ONLY phone I'd be willing to give up my Rezound for.
