Sorry if I missed this, but why are we concerned about rooting and such when we don't even have the phone yet? And we don't have any clue if/when it will be released...?

We're concerned because proven method exist for "our" device and it's the very first thing I'm doing to my Nexus once I pull it out of the box.

Ditto. Do we really need an official release date to start our prepwork for the hailstorm of people coming to these forums wanting all these hacks? I think its genius. We need more guides in their as well... its only going to get crazier when the people actually have the device.

D-Day is on the horizon....

Dezymond, you might bring Benson's How-to thread to the attention of pc747 and the rest of the RS team as they may be able to point some people that way and/or provide some additional support in there from time to time... if nothing else, it will just be good to know about.

Roger that.

Good thought, but I can already hear their response.

"We don't have any of that information right now."

Or,

"It will be released 'soon.'"

Or,

"We don't have any idea what you are talking about."

True but still worth a shot, I'm on my lunch break now, ima call them in a few and ask. Wish us luck lol.

If or when there's a method to relock the bootload without a trace for those certain warranty situations, I'd be more than will to put that up too.

So just a thought. Has anyone called VZW and asked about the D4 or White Razr? If they gave us news that yes the D4 will be available Thursday or the Razr will be then maybe the email holds some truth since they are being so quite on the Nexus. Again just a thought.

For what it is worth, I stopped by my local VZW store and both the sales person and floor manager, without hesitation, said the Nexus and D4 will availible this coming week.

Here is a follow-up story to one Shadez posted earlier. There was an amazing leak that the folks over at Engadget scored. This internal Verizon email (pictured above) indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Motorola Droid 4 will be arriving to Verizon stores on December 8th, and according to the source of this leak, the Droid 4 will be available that day, and the Galaxy Nexus will be available the next day, on December 9th. Both of these dates lineup with a slew of rumors that we have been hearing over the past few weeks. This looks pretty solid folks. This Thursday and Friday are going top be busy at Verizon stores.

What's also interesting in this email is the mention of a white Motorola Droid RAZR coming on December 6th. That's the next story we had in line to share with you guys, but we didn't have a date. Looks like we do now. :)
