For what it is worth, I stopped by my local VZW store and both the sales person and floor manager, without hesitation, said the Nexus and D4 will availible this coming week.

Any sales person, floor manager or any Verizon employee are going by the rumored dates trust me I have a few friends that work at Verizon, all the info they know is all from the internet and forums. They won't know a date until the day it's released, that's how my friends and every other rep I've talked to told me. I called Verizon again to see if I can get anything worthy of posting but they know nothing. All she told me was Verizon has a scripted response that goes something like this: "Thank you for your interest in the Galaxy Nexus, unfortunately there is no definitive release date but it's due to come out before the end of the year." Now it might be released this week but employees won't officially know until the day it does.

Verizon is a multi billion dollar company and as I agree with you somewhat, in the end this phone won't make em or break em. And as most has stated, probably 90% or more of them tired of waiting has just went and got another phone on their network so they still win lol.

I guess I'm not as mad as some people, yes I have the OG droid, its dieing a slow death but after waiting for the Bionic ever since seeing it in February, the Nexus wait has been real easy to cope with. The last few weeks I've been eager as most of you but in the end I believe VZW is doing what's best for the phone. If the phone already has a update waiting for it to 4.1, obviously that says something to all of us why it got delayed.

I really hope in the end when we all get our Nexus we discover why and how it got delayed and then I might sit back and laugh at a lot of you if it was on Googles end or Samsungs end. At this point you have 3 huge companies, 1 could easily play a role in why this phone hasn't been released.

Do you guys think it will sell out in-stores on day 1? Just trying to figure out my best plan of attack. I prefer to have it day 1 but don't want to run the risk of it selling out online and in the stores.

Grain of salt alert. There have been rumors, shocking I know, that they will get it with a package deal like the Bionic. I have also read that Costco's release date may be a few days later and that the accessory package is more of a send them proof of purchase and they'll send you the goods. Pure rumors and speculation!!! As a side note, when the Bionic came out a rep at Costco told me they have never sold a Nexus phone in the past. I don't know how long she had worked there, she could have been B/Sing me to keep the Bionic. Fingers crossed for the end of the week.

Not so much the wait, but the lack of communication from VZW. Would cost them nothing to give out a bit of info, I don't even need specifics, just throw me a bone, please.

As most have said recently, you really think Verizon cares about the phone? Especially with the release of the buggy Bionics and others.

I don't think they really care about releasing a phone with a couple of bugs.

You should definitely preorder it. This device has an silent hidden following i can feel it. :biggrin: I really dont know though, its hard to gauge how popular it is so u should preorder just in case. Not sure how that would affect waiting on Saturday though. If you have to wait then i guess youd be fine because its either the 8th or the 9th and you know theyll probably need some more on Monday. Dont test out the Sunday waters.

When I was at the samsung experience store last night there were 2 people looking at the nexus - me and one other guy. I can't imagine this thing selling out within the first couple of days but it might vanish after being on the market for a week once people start seeing it. It really isn't being advertised but I'm willing to bet when someone is holding this phone up next to the rezound/razr they'll end up going with the very pretty, very smooth looking nexus.
