can any one help me i can not get any of this to work tool keeps saying it cant find device i still can not do anything on the unsafe side of my phone so i can not remove safestrap that is why i am asking if i have to have safestrap removed to get this to work going from one leak to another

Make sure you have the latest motorola usb drivers installed. The process doesn't care if you have safestrap installed on your phone or not, just be sure to have the update zip file on the external sdcard and bootup in AP Fastboot mode.

Tried using 4.0.4 root method, failed to gain root access. Trying again

Rock on guys, just updated to 215 without any trouble. Rerooted on the first time. I did all this riding down the road with my laptop. On the way home from a family event and the wife is driving. Usb tethering now from my 6.16.215 ICS Droid 4.

i cant get the kernel zip opened or do i just rename the zip

You don't unzip the kernel--boot.img, just flash after flashing the GB files. Make sure that you have the update zip on your sdcard (external only). If you use the modified D4 Tool I made rename the boot.img it to "ICSFIX", copy it and all the GB files to the files folder and select menu 16. Then stock recovery and update from external.
