There should be a link a few pages back if you wanna look but I'm gonna build one now and take a stab at getting a working voice key and side key for app shortcuts

hey all i have a question.. i was able to get CM7 up and running on my gf's droid pro.

I was wondering if anyone was experiencing any problems with bluetooth, specifically none of my callers can hear her. Also if i would like to update to a newer version of CM7 do i need to go through the entire bootstrap install and reboot strap so i can have cwm again or is there a way to simply access it now?

Yes great deal, you da man, also what about the option for screen to timeout -never and contacts like in original .GB to select to be able to add each contact instead of whole like twitter, facebook, google, most of that is with original GB ,and also how hard would it be to get tether via usb keep it up, you got it awesome now and moving on up,thanks oh is it supposed to be no sound with the boot animation

Thats a known problem on all of the Motorola Droid's running a 2nd-init version of CM. It wont be fixed until Cvpcs gets his open sourced libaudio.so completed.

Hold the power button, click reboot, recovery, ok and you'll boot into CWM.

damn are there any work arounds at this time? for instance to have it use the mic on the phone for the time being? any estimated it time of when that will be available? if not id have to consider another rom for her.. can anyone suggest another one?

First, the 808 version of CM7 seemed to be working great. Really fast. Love it.

However, after using it for a few hours I noticed that the data sync was not working correctly. I would not get any notifications from gmail unless I manually refreshed. Before I started to tinker around with it at all I decided that I should make a cw backup of the setup (which was my first CM7 install). I wasnt sure if I had to use the droid 2 bootstapper, but I did anyway and then rebooted into recovery. That's where I am stuck now because the phone will not boot into either the CW recovery or into android. I get the "M" logo and then nothing. I can get into the stock android recovery, but no farther. I really hope I dont have to sbf all this over again and then install again and then etc etc etc. Any help is obviously much appreciated. Otherwise I'm stuck with a useless phone (other than sbf'ing etc).

youre gonna have to sbf. cyanogenmod has the bootstrapper built in. you just gotta hold the power button as if you were going to reboot, buy choose reboot recovery and when the phone reboots it will go into clockwork

im working on a working voice and side shortcut key as we speak

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I can't believe I'll have to do this all again. LAME!

Regardless, the ROM is fantastic and fast. Wish I just hadn't shot myself in the foot like this...

I have 808 installed and running smooth. My data push/sync, however, is not working. I can refresh manually when I go into gmail but I am not getting anything pushed to the phone. This occurs both over 3g or wifi (both of which are working for data otherwise - browser, apps, etc).

Any thoughts on something that might need to be tweaked?

Thanks.

EDIT: figured it out. In "settings>accounts & sync>google" gmail wasnt set to sync in the background. everything else was. checked it and now it's fixed.

I don't think button remapper will work. The fortunate thing for you with the shutter was that there were still some vestigial parts left from either the droid x or droid 2 source code which still codes for a camera button so you can in essence trick the phone into thinking it has a camera button. The thing is there is really no viable option for a voice key or side key since there are no other cyanogenmod phones with these keys so I'll have to make it up from scratch. I've made progress in setting it up but I'm not sure how much more I have to do :P

I hear you Clavin. The first time I installed CM7, I had no way of using the voice key on the lower right corner of the keyboard and I depended on that key to bring up my ChompSMS quick compose so it really sucked. I ended up using a swipe gesture on the SMS messages icon on my launcher pro launcher and it worked but I would much rather have had the hardware button. Not having the side button working for anything including waking the phone along with no lock was kind of a bummer also.

This may be a really stupid question, but flashing this won't make me lose my SIM unlock, right? I'm assuming not, since I've done the SBF and the GB update and stuff without losing it, but I just want to be absolutely sure. I'd hate to be stuck with a phone I can't use, what with Verizon changing up the codes and all that.

EDIT: Never mind. Flashed it, and SIM unlock is still present. Working well so far, at least for how I use the phone. Haven't tested text messages or phone calls, yet, though.
