Gonna build cyanogenmod 7 for the pro

Clavin,

GSM/UMTS is working pretty well.
There was an continuous error with com.android.phone, something of this sort that kept popping up, but then I settled it with initializing the DROID Pro properly and it was gone.

No big issues that I noticed so far, will update you if I find anything.

Great work my friend.

EXCELLENT! did the com.android.phone error go away after a reboot? if not, which steps did you take to resolve the issue? does data 3G work too?

also, build 808.zip is ready for download! hope this improves your battery life like it did mine!

Cyanogenmod For Droid Pro

enjoy, folks :P

This may sound odd, but I've tested battery life with both the standard and extended batteries. I've noticed improvement with the standard battery, but not with the extended battery. It seems to be about the same.

edit: I posted this before I noticed 808 had been released.

Jackpot, I can report that the bluetooth issue is NOT solved on your 807 build (i havent installed 808 yet, perhaps its solved there?). I can hear the person talking, but they cannot hear me. Just letting you know to keep it on your radar.

Also, could you or someone with the knowledge write up a guide to installing CM7 both from stock and from a previous CM7 build? I think that might help a lot of people who may be wary of flashing a ROM.

Great work as always

great work OP.

my gf's droid pro was wonking out on stock gingerbread, so I put 808.zip on there, and its working fast!

- Camera working with no issues
- GPS working, no problems
- WiFi working, no problems
- Battery life: TBD
Currently at work but I guess the gf will do some testing for me while I'm away lol.

It's a great port job, Jackpot and crew have done wonders to get CM7 so close to fully functioning on the Droid Pro. He deserves a lot, if not all of the credit. I posted this several pages back, but back when I had this running on my Droid Pro I tested Quadrant just for fun and I managed to get a score over 3000, which I havent seen very often. Of course, Quadrant scores don't necessarily translate into real performance, but a score of over 3000 is impressive in my book.

Okay the problem with bluetooth is because of a system library called libaudio.so. Basically, the person who got cyanogenmod running on the droid x (cvpcs) (which this build is based on) is working on a libaudio.so file that will get the bluetooth working. This issue affects all of the motorola droid cyanogenmod ports (droid x, droid 2, droid 2 global, and our pro) but the good news is that cvpcs is working on getting those kinks fixed. However, there's no timetable for it's completion but you know I'll put it in the second it's done. The battery life on the newest build is better but not as good at the build before that (which was unpublished) but I may revert back to the unpublished build for the next one to maximize battery life

usb tethering and wifi hotspot

Hey Jackpot does this have wifi tethering and is the hotspot not needed any more, also is it possible to get usb tethering, and 1 more,is radiocomm locked or? ,I cant get it to recognise in radiocomm, thanks again for all your hardwork.,also I think 806 had a better battery, seemed like anyway

The proximity sensor does not work and I'm not sure if it will ever work. The problem lies in the fact that the pro uses the same device for the light sensor and proximity sensor and having one device serve two functions apparently does not work well with cyanogenmod

I have not tried tethering but if somebody can tell me if it works or not I'll look into it, I don't think it will be very difficult to fix if it's broken

clockwork

Let me ask this if I get 808 up and loaded and do clo
ockwork and do restore for my latest backup, will it load the whole older 807 system or just my settings???

installing a new zip does not tamper with your data folder so everything should be fine. it's just a new system folder so there should be no noticeable differences in anything besides performance. you just gotta reboot into clockwork, go to mounts and storage and format your /system and /cache, then press back and install zip from sd card and choose the newest zip

also guys, if you find your phone's apps doing funky things after installing a new zip, you should reboot into clockwork, go to the bottom where it says advanced, go to wipe dalvik cache, and confirm wiping the dalvik cache. don't fret after you reboot your phone if the boot process takes longer than normal, it just had to rebuild the dalvik cache you just wiped so it will take longer to boot but all subsequent boots should return to their normal and shorter boot times
