new to rooting

ive never rooted my droid but am finally willing to do so for fear of bricking my phone. since the new 2.2.1 came out how would i go about doing this?

Well first, which droid do you have? There are many different models of droids and rooting methods are usually specific to each model.

Unfortunately, this would have been easier for you (z4root) if you'd rooted before the update. :(

Yes, you install the FRG22D master OTA update file. What's the purpose in going back? There may be another option so you don't lose all the neat new features.

Using Motocache1's method still works on 83D and is a far superior option. However, like I said, all you need to do to get back to 22D is install the master OTA file.
