All I need is the ability to do a "mark as read" within the gmail app instead of that achieve/delete

In regards to inbox....Google hasn't given me a reason to remember to use it
You can mark as read.... Select the email then hit envelope icon at the top.

Hard to believe it's been 6 months. I used it for a day or 2 and went back to the old Gmail App.

That's the point. They want you to archive your email, not delete it.

This.
When Gmail first started it was the same way. They REALLY wanted you to archive everything and never delete. I've never understood why. And now they are pushing the Archive with Inbox.
Google just wants us to keep every email we ever get, I don't understand. I get so much email I simply will never look at again.
Forum notices? Somehow I accidentally turned them on here. I got 84 in 10 days. WHY THE HECK would I ever want to keep those Google? How does that help you market to me? I don't get it! What are you up to.... :)

Used Inbox for less then 2 weeks. I see no advantage over Gmail.

I am a data hoarder. I keep everything that isn't junk. I like archiving mail for CA purposes among others.

I was going to start a new thread but let's stick with this.

In box is now over a year old and have seen some improvements. Were the improvements enough to get you to ditch the native Gmail app?

Well based on the mail apps that come pre-loaded.....looks as if the public has spoken and inbox they never knew you.

Are you using inbox?

I use it once in a blue moon....but I find myself not ready to make it a daily driver.

I still have it installed on my personal phone, open it once in a while to see if the concept catches me, but it just never has. I have read some reviews somewhere from people that do like it.
