Realistically they only need a day. All of their phones on their website ship next day (the next day). So one day prior they would ship on the release day (which is when they'd ship no matter what).

Could make it very hectic, but do-able. Not to mention that Apple has done 1-day pre-orders as well, so it is obviously possible. But since I think they would like more than that, I'll go with between 1 and 6 days (now the max for an 8th release).

Logistics is fun. It would be easy to pull off 1 day shipments if they the regional warehouses and local shops had them. honestly i think im not preordering mine, ill hit the shop on day 1 so ill have it in my hands then. its a possibility that if you preorder you wont get te device on the first day but during first week.

I hope by Monday. RAZR pre-orders started at 8 a.m. Eastern time, so you would think Verizon would announce a day beforehand. Obviously they won't release the news during the weekend so if they were to start Monday, we would probably hear something tomorrow...

I would love to have it the first day, but if it releases on a weekday, I don't want to have to take a day off of work in order to get it. In the past, has it been possible to pre-order a phone and pick it up at a local Verizon store?

I wish i knew. My last phone was the d1 and things have changed since then. not to mention when i got it their wasnt much of a rush to get it. i was just upgrading my enV1. boy did that day change my life. got my new hobby out of it. :biggrin: if that were the case, id totally preorder it. if we could put a hold on it for the end of day that would be amazing.

100% agree. If they've planned for it, easy. If not, difficult.

And why pre-order? Means you get the phone one day later. Unless all the stores are out.... :blink:

Personally I'm just hoping Costco has it (in decent qty) on launch day. My wife got her Razr there a few days after release, for $249 ($50 cheaper than VZW) AND it came with a mail in bonus of HDMI dock, HDMI cable, and car charger.

Though I think I would lose my $50 upgrade bonus. Still might be a better deal.

When you pre-order, or order off their web page, they have to ship to an address. Theoretically, you could ship to a work address.....wouldn' t do that around here, they lose too much stuff.

Hey guys, IMO the only reason for the delay is the rezound and the razr! They have to get thief money for these phones and pass the majority of the 14 day return policy. I blame 100% Verizon for the hold up.

I can't seem to gauge the general demand for this device. Of course I know its high in demand to power users, but I live in a suburb of Chicago and I dunno if there's going to be a line waiting for this thing when the doors open or what. I just really hate lines lol

I do think that's part of it, but hearing that they just put up their VVM app TODAY, I'm thinking that was part of the delay as well. Though I don't know why anyone uses it, the app (I'm sure) couldn't go on the phone at launch due to "minimal" bloat. So it had to be ready for DL from day 1 so they wouldn't lose their $3/mo and have a lot of angry customers. Just a theory.

Well then prowler seeing how this is happening maybe Galaxy nexus delayed until Verizon figures out how to load bloatware that can't be disabled by the user. I am starting to think this seeing how they are doing the vm and I'm sure app store as well.

IMO i disagree. they changed their return policy til January. So you can buy a device now, and just wait for nexus then return it.So i guess your argument is for the period just before they changed that policy, and i have to say....they had to change it sometime. You could always have that theory because they are usually releasing a phone here and their.

Yeah I know a lot of people r talking about preorder but really their might not even be a preorder so I'm not gonna let that upset me for the 8th. I hope it comes out the 8th regardless of a preorder, I just wanna hear the date from VZW soon.
