The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

I could be wrong, but from my knowledge, all Android phones use micro usb, so all are interchangeable. I have Moto, Samsung and HTC chargers and they all work for each of our phones. The connection plug looks different on each, but they still plug in and work for each phone.

The only thing I could see being different would be the charging voltage and amperage for the different batteries. I don't think there would be a problem pluging a moto car charger into the nexus to charge it, but I'm not entirely sure if you would end up damaging the battery in the nexus over time if the charging amperage from the moto plug didn't completely match up with the nexus' battery requirement.

My apologies for the confusion.

Forget absolutely everything I posted (including the Droid Life article) and do only this: [HOW TO] Unlock Bootloader & Root GSM Nexus - xda-developers

Follow this exactly. With this method you don't have to install ADB. Everything is easy, in a neat little package. This method will unlock your bootloader, root your device and give you superuser.

You need superuser to install root apps like overclock and others.

You got it.

You can link to that info in the thread you start (and give due credit), but I'd rather our members have a place to go for questions/comments that don't have to be addressed by the original author without having to go to a different website and/or signing up if they haven't already.

You keep saying this over and over again on almost every page. I think by this time we all now realize you don't think the phone is ever coming. Actually all but 3 of your 274 posts is saying that this phone isn't coming... :)

We get it, We get it.... the phone isn't coming..... We get it... We get it... :)

+1! Let's try & stay positive peeps ;-)

USB voltages are standardized.

Live Texas Holdem! One of these days I'm going to be rich!

Oops.... it's not real money... :(

Whaaaatt?!?! Not real money?!?! I already made reservations to Tahiti, and I put a down payment on my own island.
Hey, wanna buy an island...cheap?

Looks like those release emails made their way to Engadget about 30 minutes ago? Did not want to get my hopes up, but darnit, they're up....

Guess I'll have to go on a recon mission to Verizon Thursday after hours....
