I see it all over the forum and I don't really understand the mentality of "if it doesn't come out by (insert date) I'm getting a (insert other phone)". Do you want the GN or just a new phone. If you really want the GN it shouldn't matter when it comes out.

We want both. I very much want the GN, however my OG Droid is near dead. Texts come in hours late, phone calls go straight to voicemail half the time, and the whole thing lags. These problems exist even after sbf'ing. So yeah, I would love a GN. But I just can't wait any longer. If its not out by the 9th I'm going to have to seriously consider jumping ship.

Yeah I'm gonna definately miss my keyboad on my D1 and TBH I'm a lil worried going from this to the Nexus. Everytime I try to talk myself in using the onscreen KB to get us to it for the Nexus, I always find myself using the KB and browsing the net in landscape mode. When people say they can type fast onscreen maybe that's true. But I still believe I can out type most on my physical KB and do it more accurately, not abbreviating words, leaving punctuation out and suff. Browsing the net in landscape is also just way better in my eyes, everything shows up big and u can usually read more at one time then potrait mode. But the GN has a huge screen so I hope it makes up in this area. This all has me worried but I'm making myself go to it regardless

Im definitely getting the nexus, just ordered the screen protector But im thinking that i might not stick with it. The lack of a keyboard would be such a constant nag. Like the phone is incomplete without it. but so would not being able to mod the D4, which is just the dilemma from hell. Thing is sexier then the nexus but i just cant bring myself away from the hacking scene. Haha i need to be a billionaire so i can just walk up to google and be like "I want the nexus, but it doesnt have a keyboard, make it for me with same innards just gimme a keyboard, heres a million dollars."

I would so be doing that as well lol.

Nothing personal man , I was just saying . I heard so many rumors , some from people high up . It's hard for me to believe a Verizon store sales person , we all now how uninformed most of them are .

According to Phil of Android Central, 24,000 Samsung Galaxy Nexus units were delivered today to a certain region. Another 61,000 are ordered, but not yet received. And, there will supposedly be 500 “or so” demo units available in California.

Whether or not the rumored December 8th release date will hold water is up for speculation, but shipments aren’t hurting that rumor’s prospects.

I never used the physical KB on my d1. It was just too weird shaped and the keys were flat so I couldn't feel them right. Every time I tried using it...there was nothing but mistakes.

You will be able to type fast with the on-screen KB with a screen this size. Trust me. Even my tbolt works great for this.

I believe everyone who says the 9th because it lines up perfectly with Best Buy's 11th release. Verizon store usually get phones a few days before anyone. However, I find it funny that Verizon store employees know the date and when I call Verizon(611) they know squat. Could it be they know a date and just don't want to give it out in case there is another "inside delay"? I just hope it's this week because I just got paid and all my other bills are paid up to date. :crossesfingers:

It's because all calls are recorded and if the call center employee gives away information that they're not supposed to they will get caught. Store employees' conversations are not recorded so if they give you a little inside info it won't be held against them.

Well, that would jive with my buddy who said his store has a mandatory meeting on the 8th for new phone release discussions.

I just ran into a coworker from years ago who now works at a Verizon Authorized Resaler. After a lot of catching up I asked her about the Nexus release date. So she called her boss, and he told her they will be selling them on the 9th.

Take this information any way you like. I just thought I would be kind enough to share.

At least this is a little closer to home than the rumor I heard from my Grandpa's Plumber's Daughter's Boyfriend's Friend who knows a VZW rep
