I work in Rockville, but live in Alexandria. There's a lot of DC'ers here.

I called a Verizon store here in Rockville, MD and the sales rep told me they got a huge shipment of Galaxy Nexus accessories this morning. She said nothing is official at this point but she hinted to an end of the week release, possibly the 8th, but more likely the 9th. I hope she's right.

This is very promising news. I hadn't heard anything positive re: nexus until this! Yay.

I dont think it will be released on the 9th. I HOPE it is, but I dont think it will be. I have signed up for notifications through both verizon and the nexus webpage...and have not recieved any kind of communication at all.

Im skeptical and hearsay is hearsay....nothing more.

Those sign up pages are highly unreliable, I got an email about the Bionic the morning it was released - I wouldn't base anything on lack of communication via that page

I have to agree, I too had notifications set up for the razr and didnt get any emails until two days after it had already been released. Still though, i have my fingers crossed cause I really need to get a phone stat

Just a random thought: would the plural be Galaxy Nexuses or Galaxy Nexi?? I plan on getting two, one for the wifey and one for yours truly and I just want to be grammatically correct.

Guys, this is no different than the other dates. We were hearing "confirmations" from reps, "VZW insiders", and all kinds of people then too. This is the same crap, so don't hold your breath.

I hate Verizon for not saying anything. Even if there was a decent reason for the hold up- if they just SAID something I'd be much happier. How can they be so stupid?

$$$$s is how they can be so stupid. They are still pushing the Razr and Rezound and want to get as many of those unit sold before the "next great phone" comes out. They contracted with Moto and HTC to purchase a certain number of units and they don't want to be sitting on a huge investment in inventory when the sales will slow down after the GN comes out.

I got mine about 4-5 days after it was released. They're useless.
