No one wants to listen. My boyfriend works for VZW corporste and showed me an email he got from corporate. It clearly says the 9th as the release day.

Trust us, we're listening. But folks can't help be skeptical. We've been seeing screenshots of supposed release dates on every Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday since this thing was announced in Hong Kong. With all the let downs, it's kind of hard to get excited when another date pops up. When Big Red makes it official, that's when I'll do the happy dance :icon_ lala:

Im going to be honest. I played with all the major phones at VZ. I may not be hard to please i guess because i liked the screens on all 4 of them. I advised my sister with all the stats i knew before hand and told her everything about all the phones and didnt rely on my lust while actually playing with them in store and she walked out with what i suggested beforehand (the Vigor). I cant say my eyes really noticed a difference between any of screens though(played with each for 30 sec) , i played with an x before and noticed the crap pentile so i'm not all oblivious. After playing with all those phones i really like the stratosphere because of the keyboard. Its quite interesting actually seeing all these devices myself and not from the perspective of a computer. After going inside Vz Im still a bundle of confusion on what phone i will end up with at january 15 (or whatever extended return ends) because while i may love the nexus hackability i would love a keyboard which i could really tell becuase i was naturally (subconsciously i guess) playing with d3 and stratosphere more then the razr and Vigor. I played with vigor for like 5 min with my niece playing angry birds it was nice but i like gripping the keyboard and playing angry birds and it is what im used to. Otherwise it feel like my xoom tablet. Kinda strange feelings about this no? WHo knows, i may get the D4 as a secondary phone and keep switching between the two but then i say to myself no, becuase the quadcores are coming put and it would make no sense buying two phones like that. But i want a keyboard because thats my natural way of texting, i don't look as i text on my d1 but i do on xoom. So id be stuck with 1 phone which means sacrifice my daily hacking phone hobby (which is practically borderline obsession since i go to 15news sites a day about it) over functionality or go with functionality (i send like 50 or so texts a day) over my daily hobby. Keyboard is almost too useful for me to lose. Nexus is creme of crop in my hobby field but not in my hardware dream. I have $1000 of fun money ive had saved up for 3 years or so and i havent spent it yet but idk, lol, maybe this time i should make the illogical buy. Im a logical person so that will be hard though....quad cores over d4? ... Dilemma. On the other hand i might just complain and go with nexus. Kind of a long post i know but who knows, maybe someone out their feels exactly how i do.

I know exactly what you mean. My first android was a droid x and i liked it but i was coming from a blackberry curve and i loved the BB keyboard. I eventually returned the droid x and got a droid 2 which i loved because the keyboard was perfect. then i sold that and got the thunderbolt which was an awesome phone and this was the first phone i really did any kind of modding to (root, roms, radios, ect). I sold that and now im using my friends loaner droid 1 waiting for the nexus to come out and i have to say, even though the droid 1 is sooo slow and sluggish and sometimes glitchy, i loved having a keyboard once again. it feels so much nicer to hold in my hand especially while in landscape browsing the web or playing a game. I played with a droid 3 and loved it because it was a lot sleeker and had a bigger screen then the d1/2. But in the end the thing i enjoyed the most was trying out new roms and modding my thunderbolt, and the best phone to do that on is definatly going to be the nexus so ive made my decision.

There are likely a LOT more people than you realize that were grateful for your information. Speaking for myself, I am quite excited and hopeful with the info you posted :)

Im definitely getting the nexus, just ordered the screen protector :) But im thinking that i might not stick with it. The lack of a keyboard would be such a constant nag. Like the phone is incomplete without it. but so would not being able to mod the D4, which is just the dilemma from hell. Thing is sexier then the nexus but i just cant bring myself away from the hacking scene. Haha i need to be a billionaire so i can just walk up to google and be like "I want the nexus, but it doesnt have a keyboard, make it for me with same innards just gimme a keyboard, heres a million dollars."

i will also miss a real keyboard alot... been a long time since i had a phone without a qwerty.

i have spent some time trying to learn the onscreen stuff, and even thou i've found i like the swiftkey x one the best over the ported htc, the stock, swipe and some other one that was a free amazon one. its just not the same if you need to type something long, or need to do something else while typing. like out walking the dog, or even talking to my girl. it bothers here way more when i'm staring at my phone and shes talking, then when i'm looking at her and typing away while shes talking.

i'm going to get way more crap over this phone than the d1 haha. i just can't type of a onscreen keyboard without looking at the screen like you can a real keyboard.... best phone keyboard i ever used was the old sidekick 3. man, it was just spaced so right, and could always find home keys without looking. i could hide the phone and type without making any crazy big mistakes

the d4 needs a bigger screen i think, but it is 4g and even thought its locked down. they do that boot strapped thing. so there will be root, if not many roms for it since it won't be very main stream with the nexus getting all the love.

I hope so. Wasn't expecting it to be so easy. Always have been on Verizon so i'm used to calling that activation number and no sim cards

yep nice and easy. takes like 1 minute. :)

Im not as excited about this as I was before. but once I get and get over on xda and flash a rom and/or kernel.....I think that feeling will be right back! who knows. If the Rezound gets S-off before the Nexus comes out...it will be a very very very hard choice. I really like everything about the Rezound. I hope the G-nex lives up to what is expected. From the RUMORS, we have 4 more days to find out. who knows. I just want to finally have a phone that has tons of dev support and tons of cool stuff. Im tired of seeing stuff and thinking....i wish i had that for my phone that would be awesome. So the g-nex seem to be the one to have these days, till the next great thing comes out.
