Gonna build cyanogenmod 7 for the pro

This cm7 is very good! I have some trouble with data (sometimes I must stop and restart the connection), and with the battery.
The gsm is very good, and I hope that camera and Bluetooth will correct!
Thank you for your great work!

Throwing my two cents in. The build is fantastic, and a huge improvement over the stock MotoBlur. It's a bit annoying having to reboot my phone every time I switch from wifi to cell data, but it's worth it.

I'm going to subscribe to this thread, looking forward to the next build soon!

I sure wish I could play with the new build :(

If you would have asked me a few weeks ago, I probably would have been able to offer you great deal on a slightly used Droid Pro. Now that I finally have a ROM I can play with, I think that it's back off the market!

Thanks, but I just recently sold my droid pro! I had cyanogenmod running on it back when it was in the early stages, but I loved it nonetheless. Thats what I was referring to when I said I wished I could try it :).

The things I'm gonna work on next will be the data connection reboot bug and the dumb word suggestions not doing anything unless you actually spell the word you intend to spell which makes it 100% useless. The newer builds will have a working camera, camcorder, internet video, and youtube app. Looking back, I probably should have published that latest build with the camera and videos working so you guys can have that hardware working. The reason why I'm not publishing it now is because my power has been out since Sunday morning due to hurricane Irene and it might be another 3-4 days before I have working electricity and hopefully internet will also be restored by then too >< sit tight guys :P

That must mean your in the New England area, I'm in central Maine and we lost ours Sunday afternoon, but came back on that night, then went back out again early Monday morning, and back on later on Monday morning, and so far so good, though, I know some people I work with that still don't have power ether.

Jackpot:

I had to sbf due to the keyboard force closing after i downloaded a theme after which i accidently wiped the system and cache, rather than just the cache - oops. I have a nandroid backup of the newest build and everything and i was wondering if i could flash the nandroid on the froyo kernel. Will the nandroid replace the kernel or do i need to get to gingerbread before i can flash it?

Thanks. Looking forward to the new build

Buckeye, did you do a nandroid of GB prior to installing the latest CM? If so, I would restore that GB nandroid, then reboot back into recovery and restore the CM nandroid once you are on GB to be safe. I believe that if you try to restore a GB based nandroid while on froyo you will bootloop as that happened to me a while back.

Thanks google. I figured that would be the case - just thought i would check. Ill probably just do the whole process over again to make sure I get a clean install. Just for my knowledge, to restore a nandroid backup, I just need to boot into clockworkmod recovery and go to restore and find my desired nandroid? I would rather not have to sbf again because i took a shortcut.

You'll have to reinstall the gingerbread update. On the latest blog post I linked it, you'll just have to rename it to update.zip however and reflash it in the stock recovery (power + r + m). This is because the update will update the kernel (radio file) to work with gingerbread. By the way, if you ever wipe the system again, you can just reinstall one of my clockwork zips and it will rewrite the system

The themes are ok, you must reboot and the themes are ok...
For the data, I stop and restart the data, or the wifi and then is ok...
Smartkeyboard is ok and is very fast! I've also disabled the stock input method.
With the auto brightness I have some issues, with tasker app, because in some app my tasker app, set the brightness to the Max, and then when I close these apps, the tasker must set the brightness to the auto brightness, but don't go...
Sorry for my english....
I hope that you can understand my issues!

Jackpot, I have another question. Since the port of CM7 is based off Droid X, is that why the hardware microphone and side buttons are not part of the included keyboard? Reason I ask is because I love having CM7 on my Pro but I hate the fact that those keys are not included in the keyboard mappings. Even, if I use button remapper, they don't show up on the list of buttons.
