Gonna build cyanogenmod 7 for the pro

sorry for the delay guys, the word suggestions kept force closing on me when i held vertically so i couldn't publish that. anyways, the good news is that the boot sound worked fine, and even better news is that a developer who goes by the name cvpcs (who made everything possible for us regarding cyanogenmod for the droid pro) was able to boot cyanogenmod from the gingerbread kernel (the radio file) on his droid x. what this means is that instead of the ancient kernel that our phones use which is from around november, there is hope for booting cyanogenmod from our gingerbread kernels or maybe the newer froyo one (3.7.8) instead of the much older 2.26.60 kernel. these newer kernels should bring us better battery life and better cell reception with the phone as motorola seemed to get their **** together with the droid pro with the 3.8.7 build and it should only get better if we advance to gingerbread :) i will wait until everything goes official with the new files which make gingerbread bootable for the droid x and will try to incorporate them into our builds ASAP because you know i want this as badly as you all do :P

Hey everybody, I'm new to this thread but follow xda development and rootzwiki in depth for updates for my Mecha. I just got the droid pro for my girlfriend and its been a different experience for me.

I did not have any autorotate issues with the phone but I made sure to enable autorotation on the 2.26 sbf before installing cyanogenmod.

The issue I have seem to run into however was that my phone bootloops. After the initial install everything went great. I setup my phone and when I tried to reboot to bootstrap the phone would get past the M and freeze. This left me with no choice but to go into the bootloader, sbf it again, and start all over.

Has anybody encountered this? If so what can I do prevent this. My girlfriend is getting pissed at me that she cant use her phone.

Thanks

Have you been wiping data, cache and system as per Jackpot's instructions in this thread? I had the same problem and realized that I hadnt wiped my data properly. When you bootloop (I assume you are getting a bootloop while trying to boot CM7 and not froyo), take the battery out, and put it back in while holding r+m then hit the @ symbol when the triangle with the exclamation point comes up. Navigate to where it says wipe data, and wipe cache. execute both of those and you should be good to go. I would read Jackpot's instructions earlier in this thread (sorry, i dont know exactly where) and follow them to the "t".

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I do not believe this is an issue of me not following the directions however I did follow them to a T and wiped the data/ cache three times. I got cyan installed and it booted just fine. The phone was getting signal and everything was perfect. The issue occurred when I tried to restart it and boot into CWR. I first got stuck on the M logo screen. I then went into the default android recovery and wiped data/cache. After that the phone would boot past the M logo and get stuck there (the bootanimation never came on). I will try to install it again this weekend and if it breaks I will post the logcat.

Are you using the Bootstrapper? If so thats why your bootlooping. It breaks the 2nd-init process....

So your saying that once I get cyan installed and running I should just use the normal reboot into recovery, and not bootstrap?

Is anyone having a problem with Bluetooth? I am running 808, followed all the instructions to install correctly. bluetooth ear piece connects fine and I have audio on my end but person on other line cannot hear me. I tried to different bluetooths (and re-adding) and it persists/ Any help?

Bluetooth is a known problem with 808 and all previous builds. Work is being done on the problem, but it hasnt been fixed yet - hopefully soon though.

wierd bug i found building off my repo's for DPro (might have something to do with something i added in, not sure)...... Does anyone else have wierd fc's until you change the overscroll mode? Would be fc's if you went to the bottom or top of say settings or adw launcher... If not then I know whats causing it (i think).
