Can Someone Give Me Info On My Phone? (Alltel Droid/Milestone)

Hello! I recently had an rooted htc hero but took it back to get this phone. dancedroid

I want to root this phone, but i'm unsure of what to use.

I was looking at this thread : http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-general-discussions/69780-cellular-south-milestone-droid.html

and found out the alltel and cellular south milestone have the exact same

Model number, Kernal and Build number.:icon_eek:

Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Not sure. I tend to stay away from 1 click roots. I know when released, the milestone had a locked bootloader, and has just recently been cracked.

That's what i read about the milestone too. The bootloader was locked.

But i thought it was only for the gsm/uk version??

Try it. If it's like the cellular south milestone (which it should be, as alltel is cdma like vzw and cellular south), it should work. I really think it's like the cs version, which is just a rebranded (unbranded?) droid.

Hmm. It might have patched whatever is used for the cs milestone. But hey, there is always that dumba.. *cough* hero that tries it first ;)

In all seriousness, if it doesn't work it shouldn't do anything to your phone. Just not work. The phone should be fine.

Aiight!!

I'm getting great signal strength as of right now so i'll keep what i have.

Any kernel you recommend? Or will the sapphire roms kernel be ok?

Sapphire comes with a pretty bland kernel (800MH max) so i'd download a 1GHz max 125MHz min lv kernel. That works just fine for most people.
