Does anyone have this working on UD 8. I can't get any version of skype to install without having force closes all the time. Tried the hacked one, the original one, and the Skype for mobile. All give me the same result. Force close as soon as I try to do anything....

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Yes, I do on my TM Vibrant. It seems not be able to talk to the servers. Whatever I do after lauching Skype, it gives me this message:

''It appears you are accessing Skype's web pages through an ussupported browser. Please switch browser and try again ''​

Anyone has idea what is wrong?
Meanwhile going back to my Skype-Lite which works fine. Cheers.​

Skype doesn't work on the Samsung Galaxy S series of phones, of which yours is one. Apparently there's a fix in the works.

Fring > Skype, by a huge margin.

It connects to far more people over many other services besides Skype.
Because of that you only need one app instead of like 10 apps.
It does video and 3g too, and has for a rather long time.

Quit dinking around with Skype and hacking it and all that hooplah nonsense.
I'm rather surprised no one has mentioned it yet in this thread.

Just get Fring and you won't need Skype or Tango or even GTalk or really any other
communication app since Fring talks to everyone, including Voip, SIP, MSN,
Yahoo, AIM, other Fring people, Skype, GTalk, and ICQ, all for free.

FringOUT is also cheaper than Skype (usually) if you need minutes for landlines too.

So please quit making all these senseless posts, Wen, about Tango and Skype, etc.
when Fring is the real answer anyway, and has been for months.

I replied about how the newest version of Fring does NOT have Skype capabilities and CANNOT make a call to Yahoo when I try. I'm pretty sure it can't do it with the other services it connects with either. If you're going to post something about the greatness of a program, please come with it!

I'm experiencing poor call quality when using Skype on my Droid 1.

The voices seem to stretch out and get garbled when talking, making it hard for the person on the other end to hear me.

I'm running it via my 3g connection using the patched version.

They did fix the voice volume issue hopefully they will fix this one as well.

Any ideas on improving call quality.....Skype works great off the same router using my PC.

When you say "they" fixed the volume issue, do you mean skype's native ap or the hack from X? I checked the original thread and I cannot tell if X created a new file.

They fixed the low volume in the native app a day or so after it's release.

"X"'s hack didn't come out till later.
