Official OTA UPDATE rollout right now!

I'm in Northern New Jersey and got the update 8:30 this morning.

I'm not sure how to disable 4g now. Scrolling doesn't seem as smooth.

Disabling 4G is somewhat of a difficulty, but you can download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.andirc.lteonfoff&feature=search_result (yes it says Thunderbolt, but works with RAZR), and it will take you to a menu of "Phone info". Scroll down the menu and just before the "Turn off radio" button is a line with a drop-down. It should be on "LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA" by default, which is all the radios, including Global (GSM). To change to 3G only, select "CDMA auto (PRL)". To select everything but GSM (including LTE), select "LTE/CDMA/EvDo", then just hit the Back button or Home button on the phone.

Will make a note of this, thanks

Boise Idaho - Not that local has anything to do with it... Just in case anyone is curious...

I got the update notification message yesterday afternoon. This morning around 9am MST I received the update notifcation to begin. I am rooted so intended to cancel the download until I knew better how to deal with it, but accidently hit accept and it began the download. DOH... I intended to make a back up of my mileage log before I started, but failed to do so.

Anyway, the download completed and the phone re-booted. Since then, I am stuck on a notificaiton stating "Android is upgrading..." with a line and a spinner (not spinning) and "Starting applications. the phone has been stuck there for ~ an hour (1.25 hours).

Any help would be appreciated. I would like to be able to recover my mileage data from my phone, but if it is gone, then I suppose that is my fault. I am a fairly experienced phone "tweeker" and follow directions pretty well... Usually... LOL

WOW, while I was sitting here typing this, my phone "Woke up" with ICS... I suppose it just takes some time. For those of you who are unaware, that is why you should never begin an upgrade with less than 100% battery.

David

UPDATE - I was presented with a dialog:
Update Status
blue line
The software update was successful!
Your phone has been upgraded to 6.16.211.en.US version... Yay...
During the update by battery went from 100% to 50%...

Bump. I want to keep this thread at the top so we can get reports of OTA arrivals, specifically.

Unfortunately over the years, this forum often allows for ridiculously long 168 page threads that are too general on newsy topics, as is the case with the arrival of the Razr OTA of ICS. Hard to dig through and get the info you want. I prefer segmented threads so you can find the info you need, for example: one on OTA arrival reports and circumstances of the download, another on 4g/3G toggling issues, another on the homescreen/app drawer changes, etc.

Moved to the ics forum

DROID RAZR MAXXIMIZED!!!! PREPARE TO BE VANQUISHED!!!

Thanks. Worked great.

Have been a lurker on the forums since my Droid 2G. Recently got a Droid Razr around April. My OTA ICS update hit around 1-2:00am EST this morning while walking around wally world. Located in Atlanta.

Seems either Google Maps isn't working right (haven't updated to latest app version yet to troubleshoot). The GPS signal doesn't seem to pick up from within the app, neither general map view nor navigation.Only seems to keep going in a loop of "searching for GPS signal". However my navigon app does work just fine and gets a gps lock on with out issue.

I do recommend switching network modes from default of Global to LTE/CDMA after updating though.

If you have not already, Execute a FDR (Settings-Privacy-factory data reset) and please report back on status of your observed "buggie" behavior.

I unfortunately can not "play" with my phone while at work (2nd shift) I will be able to do so after 10pm EST. Will attempt to do so and report back with any issues afterwards.
