What I'm noticing, for the most part is, the ppl who are reporting they have recieved OTA, other than the one from Atlanta (I'm in Macon by the way....75 south of that), are coming from the Northeastern part of the country. Other than the person from Atlanta that I reference, any report of anyone from the South who's recieved the OTA?

I have gone through many updates. They are completely random, and yes, I've seen people reporting in Ohio that are receiving it.

It will get to you when it gets there. My wife is in Virginia right now and she has not received it, she's stock.

I'm in NC. Got it this morning and wish I hadn't.

Are you running any task killers or antivirus? This is an extremely wonderful update, if you're having issues more then likely it's caused by an app. Consider doing a factory data reset out of your privacy section and see if that doesn't improve your performance.

Is this the same OTA as in first round of pushes?

My apologies for (re)asking the question but from prior responses I know there are two versions (patch vs. full) but wondering if patch is identical to file that could have been manually updated last week or has that download changed?

Thanks,

Mike

Did you try a battery pull? If you give it a few hours and still have issues, the mods might recommend a factory rest. But that's definitely a pain in the butt...

Nope don't run a task killer or anything. I have exactly 4 apps installed that didn't come with the phone. Swype (which is now broken), NFL app, pandora (which oddly enough works fine) and a solitare game. That's it.

Will most people be sticking with their rooted phones or trying to update to this?

I'm staying rooted. If you want the update and you still want to stay rooted, Jrummy has made that possible.

I'm confused... You're saying that the update from VW can't be rooted?

What I'm saying is that Jrummy has taken the same raw update FRG01B and made a version that people who are rooted can download and not lose their root. How he did this he describes on page 6 of this thread below.

hookbill,

Noticed on the verzon system update instruction site that you linked to on page 13 of this thread: One screenshot shows the size of the OTA update is the smaller, "first-wave" patch 45mg version, not the more complete 76 mg version. Wonder where the latter came from after all?
