so I figured I'd call one of the local verizon stores near where I work and ask about the nexus. never actually tried and the guy sounded pretty sincere. When I asked if he knew anything he laughed and said "all I know is pretty much all the rumored stuff floating around on the web" and that he wouldn't know anything until about the same time everyone else does. He laughed again and went "yea... I don't have any sort of insider information. We don't get told anything. All I know is I'm waiting on the device too" O well it was worth a shot.

Yeah, I saw the other posts, but I had to add my two cents... I just got off the keyboard with 'Ashliegh' at the Verizon web site. I was trying to preorder
a Nexus to deliver on the 9th. She confirmed they will be out the 9th, but no pre orders. Lousy to be me!

This is great news.
However, I don't see it listed at Verizonwireless.com yet. Unless they only list current phones on that site.

To believe or not to believe, that is the question that has bugged us for ever so long. Come now you super evasive Nexus, Verizon help all of us with OGs out, PLEASE!!!!!!!
Just called my local Verizon corporate store to see if they could give any more info on the release date. I told her that I had been hearing a lot online about a possible release on Friday. She said they couldn't say specifically when it would be released, but from what they were hearing on their end, it would be at the end of this week. She wasn't sure on how many units their store would be receiving.
I actually called the store yesterday as well, and the rep that answered the phone that time put me on hold. When she came back, she said they didn't know much about a release date but they suspected maybe next week. However, she didn't seem too confident. It seemed like she had just asked her coworkers to see if they had a general idea. The change in response from one day to the next seems to be an encouraging sign. It definitely looks like Verizon is getting the message around to all their stores.
The rep who answered the phone today was very clear, and from what I could tell from my conversation with her, very knowledgeable. She told me to make sure I was the account manager (since I'm on a family plan) before I go into the store, that way I wouldn't have to worry about any problems with buying the phone when it was released. While I still refuse to completely trust any dates until Verizon makes an official announcement, I feel a lot better about the 9th now. I normally don't trust VZW reps, but the one I spoke with seemed like she definitely knew what she was talking about.

Looking at the screen shot, it sounds like it won't be in the system and up and running on the site until the 9th more than likely.
