The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

I called a Verizon store here in Rockville, MD and the sales rep told me they got a huge shipment of Galaxy Nexus accessories this morning. She said nothing is official at this point but she hinted to an end of the week release, possibly the 8th, but more likely the 9th. I hope she's right.

After reading five pages of this thread to get caught up, I feel like I'm in the SGS 2 commercial with the long lines.....

I laugh so hard at the part of that commercial where the girl says "why don't you get 4G?" :icon_ poke: sorry apple...actually, I'm not.

Reading 20+ pages of these comments have truly been entertaining. :) And I swear, am I, and the people at Droid-Life, the only one who likes the simplistic look of the white and red box?

To be quite honest, I could care less what the box looks like.

JUST RELEASE THE PHONE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I work for a dead tree media company and we received a Verizon print add for 12/18 release that has no mention of the nexus. Almost all of the time if the add is coming out after the release of the phone the phone is in the add. This was true for the last several phones Verizon released.

This one could be different because it's a Google phone.

This is the 1st time that I've 'nerded out' on a phone this much & followed it's every move. So, honest question: is it typical to have a phone release with barely any previous info? Assuming no pre-orders, what is Vzw's history in this regard? What is the shortest period of time btwn official announcement & release?!? In other words, can we still see an announcement sometime this week for a 12/9 release?
