I want to preface this by saying its just a guess. I'm actually pretty dumb, and not a good guesser, so if you believe me or put any faith in this it's simply your own fault.
I think we'll at least be given a semi legit release date if we don't have the phone released by the end of this week. I, too, am trying not to get my hopes up, but there are a lot of indications that we are rapidly approaching the launch: having the phones on display in NY, the cellbrite thingy, everyone's inbred uncle telling them it's going to be released on the 8th or 9th, the shipments of accessories, the best buy thing that arkbird confirmed showing the 11th, and whatever else has been said.

I would think so lol but man I could see a release still at the end of the week but preorders? I don't think so, I don't believe it will happen and if no announcement today, the 9th will be fading quickly. They better release some news today, I see a terrorist attack on Verizon stores very soon, lol.

Bionic released with only a 5 day announcement window. (confirmed by VZW 8/3 and released 8/7) so there is still a small sliver of hope for this week. :happy3:

Just that the Galaxy S might see ICS before you have a Nexus in your hand. Thats what I got out of it anyway.

Oh and they bumped up Canada's release date by a day. It's good to be Canadian eh?

I don't think we're going to get a release date for the G-Nex. Verizon stores don't get the date until the day of is some cases. I think this is one of those cases. We have had so many leaked roadmaps and release dates that I can no longer believe the rumors. I think this week is it but only because it would be the best time to release the G-Nex for Christmas purchases. Any later and people would pass because most would be done Christmas shopping. Some may spring for it as a late Christmas purchase but 10 days before Christmas would be cutting it close. However, I'm not going to hold my breath, I'm just going to wait and see.

Most people would cry saying that you're being negative, but I'm right there with you. This is BS. Why don't we have SOME sort of info.

I love the people saying that this is the week. Well, so was last week, and the week before, and the week before, etc.

I think that chances are this phone won't be dropping til the middle/end of the month, if we're lucky. Maybe next year.

And if that's the case I'm gonna be real pissed that VZW blew my LivingSocial coupon I bought.

Highly doubtful. And you mean the Nexus S, not the Galaxy S. They'll be testing ICS builds for the Nexus S long after we have our G-Nex. Mr. Clinton Stark sounds ill informed and is only quoting something he heard elsewhere.
