The tether scandal (shall we call it a scandal?) rubbed many the wrong way. I actually distrusted P3 a lot after that all happened and stopped paying attention to his "leaked information" for a while. But he's just a human being, like you or I. He makes mistakes. When you have inside sources, sometimes you just take their word and you have no way to fact check them. We're working with "leaked" information - so I'm sure if P3 had known any better, he'd have not said anything. I honestly believe he passes on information sometimes a bit prematurely, but I don't think he intentionally misleads anyone. Sometimes some of what he shares turns out to not be true - and most of the time his information is solid and reliable.
Is he to blame for overhyping the tethering thing and causing some hysteria? Yes and no. Yes in that he did set all of it into motion, but no in that he cannot control how people react. Sure, using caps lock like he did probably made the situation seem "urgent" etc. - but I honestly believe Verizon IS watching people who are tethering, in some fashion. Maybe they've not taken any action, maybe they decided it wasn't worth it. Who knows. But I'm over it and I forgive P3 for it, because as I said he is human, the same as anyone else, and I allow for him to make mistakes because that's what people do.
