Question about getting back on update path from ICS leak.

I have a question that seems obvious but I am not sure.

If you are on GB & rooted, have voodoo & do a back up of your GB system with Titanium back up.
Could you not un root with Voodo take the ICS update, restore root & if you had issues with ICS leak at anytime do a restore back to GB from the Titamium backup which would put you back on the update path.

Nope.

You won't be able to restore a backup of Gingerbread over ICS as the update process writes a new bootloader and kernel out which the backup doesn't contain.

But..you can RSDLite back to .902 and get the OTA update to .905 and be ready for the official ICS.
