Gonna build cyanogenmod 7 for the pro

If your already running cyanogen and are trying to upgrade, select reboot then recovery. Bootstrap messed with the 2nd init process that allows us to have aosp roms with the locked bootloader. If you are running something else and are not running cyanogenmod, you do use bootstrap the first time you install cyanogenmod.

Experiencing some problems with 627M.zip
1. Still No GSM/UMTS band
I'm wondering if I'm doing the installation correctly. Below is what I did.

1. SBF version 2.26.60
2. Install Droid 2 Bootstrap, Install Z4Root
3. Permanent root with Z4 Root
4. Once rebooted, Bootstrap Recovery & Reboot into Recovery
5. Once in Recovery, go into mounts & storage, format system, format data, format cache
6. Install 627M.zip & subsequently gapps-mdpi-20110501-signed.zip
7. wipe data/factory reset
8. wipe cache
9. Reboot

Did I need to backup the first time I get into Recovery? If yes, what is it for? Need to restore after I installed 627M.zip?

yeah i knew there was a problem with the screen rotation. i posted it because it fixed the keyboard backlight issue so those who strictly use the physical keyboard and turn off auto rotation can use the phone in the dark. your steps are right, the build has the errors

I don't know if this is known or if its connected with the fact that the Camera isn't functional yet, but the LED flashlight from the Notification Power Widgets doesn't work & crashes

Thanks for the prompt reply. Was re-reading your post and realized the rotation bug. Sorry about that.

The item I need most since I'm using GSM/UMTS is to have them. So far I have not found them yet ...

I completely understand this may be a low priority for you since you are a Verizon user and do not have use with this band. Is there any way you can direct me for any try can be made by myself?

yes i understand many people bought the dpro for the main fact that it's a global device. to be completely honest, i have no clue as to how to get cyanogenmod working with global devices. to my knowledge (i might be wrong) i don't think there is a single cm global device. if somebody can find one for me i will look into the source and try. as another update, i go the rotation sensor working so we finally have a build with not only a backlight but also a working accelerometer, not just one of the two. the good news is the rest of the bugs should be just manipulations of the cyanogenmod source to better work with the pro. in tomorrow's build there will be the working sensors as well as the backlight default values that were in the 2.3.3 build for the pro because i think i had the minimum value tweaked too low so the screen was somewhat dark. my next thing will be getting the keyboard suggestions to work in portrait and then landscape after getting the virtual keyboard working in landscape. after that i will tackle the camera and camcorder as well as getting video and youtube to play. getting working video will be the hardest thing i believe and may take a few days to get working with all of the expected errors and bootloops... lucky me :P gimme feedback on tomorrow morning's build. i'll upload while i'm in the shower before work so around 9:00 eastern time

usb bug is known sorry i dont think there is fix for that yet. other moto devices such as the droid x and droid 2/g have the same problem. i'll wait for them to figure it out because they are much further into the build process than i am

Calvin,

Nexus S has both CDMA & GSM/UMTS.
Understand the CDMA band is slightly different, but may be a good reference for you?

Edit: Double checking Nexus S. Maybe it's one OR the other.... Sorry about this.

Hey thanks for your work. Its awesome. Is there anyway we can map an application to our custom button on the side from this cyanogenmod rom? And I'm already on this cyanogenmod rom. When I update to the nxt version, do I have to wipe data beforehand?
