Got some time to play with his watch today.
As you can see in the photo I have large manly wrists and he has little girly ones.
/Cheap Shot at Apple head
I had to set his strap to the very last hole to barely get it on. I guess there are 2 band sizes. Did not know that. S-M and L.
The screen is crisp and gorgeous.
The crown is super sweet for scrolling around your "Contact Dial". The Contact dial is pretty cool. Click the lower button and it brings up your favorite contacts. You can scroll around, select someone and call or text. This is a lot like the Coffee app I tested and I am sure, like the Coffee app, this is something I would eventually stop using. I have a phone to find and text\call people.
That menu is small but not as annoying as I thought it would be to navigate. It's not bad. Not great either. The animation when you use the crown to scroll in on an app is cool, particularly the calendar app.
The vibration thing would take some getting used to. It is like a tap on the wrist, and you can set the intensity. It actually makes a noise, though, if the watch isn't snug on your wrist. A noise. I do NOT want a noisy watch.
I do like the speaker on it. I have always loved the WHOOSH sound that Apple uses when you send a text. I'm sure that would be off most of the time for me, though.
\\EDIT\\ Oh and I do not like the charger thingy. It's not a true dock. It's a long cable with like a nickel sized disc on the end of it. So if you set it on your nightstand it won't really sit well. I don't know. I much prefer a true dock like the G and 360 docks.
My verdict if I was an Apple Head: I'd get a Pebble, honestly. I am just NOT paying $400+ for a watch. Period.
