Apple Watch Review

Got some time to play with his watch today.
As you can see in the photo I have large manly wrists and he has little girly ones. :D
/Cheap Shot at Apple head
I had to set his strap to the very last hole to barely get it on. I guess there are 2 band sizes. Did not know that. S-M and L.
The screen is crisp and gorgeous.
The crown is super sweet for scrolling around your "Contact Dial". The Contact dial is pretty cool. Click the lower button and it brings up your favorite contacts. You can scroll around, select someone and call or text. This is a lot like the Coffee app I tested and I am sure, like the Coffee app, this is something I would eventually stop using. I have a phone to find and text\call people.
That menu is small but not as annoying as I thought it would be to navigate. It's not bad. Not great either. The animation when you use the crown to scroll in on an app is cool, particularly the calendar app.
The vibration thing would take some getting used to. It is like a tap on the wrist, and you can set the intensity. It actually makes a noise, though, if the watch isn't snug on your wrist. A noise. I do NOT want a noisy watch.
I do like the speaker on it. I have always loved the WHOOSH sound that Apple uses when you send a text. I'm sure that would be off most of the time for me, though.
\\EDIT\\ Oh and I do not like the charger thingy. It's not a true dock. It's a long cable with like a nickel sized disc on the end of it. So if you set it on your nightstand it won't really sit well. I don't know. I much prefer a true dock like the G and 360 docks.

My verdict if I was an Apple Head: I'd get a Pebble, honestly. I am just NOT paying $400+ for a watch. Period.

I used to wear a watch on a leather cuff. Fairly large sized face, but the cuff was a good 2-2.5 inches wide underneath it as well. The footprint of my G watch is smaller. It's really not even much larger than the watch I was wearing for work before I got it, if I remember right. I still know where THAT watch is, so maybe I should do a side by side pic for better reference.

It's all in personal taste once you get beyond the obvious point of wrist size vs. watch size.

Ok I'm seeing "vs" reviews popping up now and, it might be me, they seem to be in awe of everything Apple or if it lags behind they have a justification for it, like battery life sucks because it's a smaller battery. At the same time those features on others that shine brightly are just glossed over, such as a phone on the S mentioned like an of by the way , the 360 looking more like a regular watch, etc.
They have all totally glossed over the sport band is going to be a BIG problem unless owners get clasps to put on it. A $350 watch is going to be easily lost because they left off a .05 piece of rubber for a clasp.

Google "Apple Watch Dock" and you will see there are some nice options out there.

Great. So I have to spend more to buy a decent charger on top of my $400 watch? That's hot.

But it's the best watch on the planet. Who cares if it is their first run at it and couldn't get it right after announcing it many, many months ago?

But but but it's even Note4 restrictive them Samsung, if that was possible. Os has to be 8.2 or higher, i5 or higher. As restricted as Samsung is it works 3 models back on 2 pre lollipop os versions.
If my wife wants an iwatch she'd have to buy a new phone and she's old school thinking that everything after the 4 is too big.

OH. EM. GEE.
So, my coworker comes in my office around 5:30. I worked late tonight.
He looks dejected.
"I have a problem. I'm pretty bummed..."
Crap, I think, guess I'm working even later.
He looks dejected.
"What's up?"
"I have a scratch on my watch!"
"Shut up!"
I look at his Apple Watch.
I breathe on it. Rub it on a cleaning cloth
"Uh...Tom...you have 2 scratches..."
Not big ones. The one I noticed is really small.
WOW! Bummed for my friend, but...WOW! Are you s$@$&+&# me, Apple! He's owned it for a freaking WEEK!! 9 days!
I couldn't even tease him about my almost 6 month old watch, the aftermarket band I bought beat to crap, the outside edge showing some silver ...but the perfectly...
unblemished....
Glass.....

Just wow that stinks for them.
May I suggest to that that you suggest to them a Zagg, or similar wet application, screen protector at this point? As they cure they fill in scratches so after it has fully cured it'll look out of the box new plus it'll take the hits next time instead of the screen. They also come with a lifetime warranty against scratches so if it gets beaten up they can get a new one and when it cures it'll fill those existing scratches again.

On the screen, or the case? I've seen articles popping up that the metal case is easy to scratch. Has me just a bit worried about the body of the Watch Urbane that should be delivered to me today (Missed fedex by an hour yesterday).
