I only get socket errors if I don't disable my wireless NIC first. Worked great for me while my FIOS service was out for 2 days thanks to some idiot hitting the box at the corner with his truck.

Everything installed flawlessly (I followed the directions) on my XP machine. Posting this while tethered right now. Wireless card turned off and no network cable plugged in.
