The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now officially a retail product instead of a leaky phantom. The device is quite impressive and it might even convince some owners of previous-gen Galaxy Note products that they need to update.

We will share all the juicy details and let you folks decide. First, here are the main new differences worth highlighting:
  • Curved display is sharper; slopes less than the S7 Edge
  • Iris scanner to unlock the phone with your eyes
  • USB-C charger port is the first Samsung's to adopt the new standard)
  • First phone with Gorilla Glass 5
  • More accurate S Pen stylus
  • Water-resistant
  • MicroSD card slot
  • Improved low-light camera
  • Larger 3,500 mAh battery
  • New S Pen capabilities - like magnification and GIF-making
  • Stylus won't get stuck if installed backwards
  • Blue Coral (new color), Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium, Black Onyx
Here is the fill spec breakdown:
  • 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2K resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage
  • 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM
  • A microSDXC slot with support up to 2TB
  • 12-megapixel rear Dual Pixel camera
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3,500 mAh battery
  • IP68 water- and dust-resistance
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
The beautiful and feature-rich superphone from Samsung will be available August 19th from all major wireless carriers in the United States. Several non-carrier retailers will carry it as well including Best Buy and Amazon. Pre-orders start as early as tomorrow (August 3rd), and for folks who pre-order from Samsung's website you will get your choice of a free 256GB microSD card or a free Gear Fit2 smartwatch with their purchase. Nice!

Pricing from the carriers has yet to be revealed, but we will share more info when we know more. Here's the link to our dedicated Samsung Galaxy Note 7 section for further discussion: Samsung Galaxy Note 7

What do you folks think? Is this the best Galaxy Note ever?

I was excited to get this phone with T-mobiles JOD, but now they are requiring a $70 down payment. When I signed up I was told it would always be $0 down payment for base model phones. On top of all of that you don't get the netflix + a samsung gift like in the past, only your choice of one of the three. Pretty disappointing :(

I think I'm going to pick on up and give it a shot. The better camera and pinning notes to always on display are nice
