The difference is that froyo is an older version of android (more specifically, a moto version of android 2.2) that liberty changed and then distributed. Gingerbread is the newer version with more/ better features (2.3).

I never flashed liberty GB but I remember reading somewhere that it does not download with the .zip extension at the end of the file. Try adding it and see if it appears for you to select then.

So have to rename it with a .zip extension?

Lol why isnt that mentioned in the tutorial at the beginning?

BTW I am running Rom manager and I thought it would automatically do it for me but it just reboots into recovery.

Yes, add the .zip extension to it. Its the only way to make it show up in CWR

Just take a look at the file and see if it says whatever the file name is with a .zip at the end, if it does not then yes you do.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Brad!! Thanks for the assist, never flashed it myself to remember which version you needed to do that with.

It is possible. You were installing it over rooted GB from what I remember, correct?

It is what you are supposed to install it over. Not sure what happened, did you wipe everything?

You could try booting into stock recovery and formatting data/cache there. Sometimes if you are lucky it can get you out of a pickle, not often though. Other then that you will need to SBF.

Yes give it a shot. Like I said though it is a long shot, SBF is most likely the recourse you will need.
