I'm trying to hard reset a motorola droid but when I hold X and power button the motorola sign shows up but nothing after that. I am waiting for the yellow exclamation mark to show up. Any ideas why it's not working?

I bought it off craigslist for cheap. Dude told me that it was rooted. There's a pattern code on it but he doesn't know it. Anyway around it

We don't discuss ways around security lock patterns - either yourself or the person you purchased it from should know it, if not then something is not right -

I'm pretty sure there is, but I couldn't tell you.

It's rooted, alright, and ROM Manager did its Amazing Disappearing Recovery Trick.

Can you get into the bootloader? If so we can get you running as long as the phone doesn't have a bad IEMI or whatever the heck that is. (Unique identification code, aka reported stolen.)

Pull the battery. Press and hold up on the d-pad. Pop the batter back in and power the device up without letting go of the d-pad.

However, I have to ask -- was the Droid listed as having a bad IMEI?

You have a stolen (or simply reported missing) Droid. It's worthless as a phone. All you can use it for is a 3.7" miniature tablet. Sorry to tell you this.

The only thing this phone is good for is parts and maybe a 3.7" mobile tablet on WiFi only. But like previously said, it's been reported stolen to Verizon.
