if not then you are ok because it should pass. If you are that worried either unroot or use rsdlite.

At the top of that screen? All I had was the icon. No text.

then you should get the ota

Heh. Either way, I reflashed, reinstalled 2.1, and went all MyBackupPro on mah droids. Never used the restore feature on MyBackupPro, so I'm totally curious as to how that's gonna work out. :)

I am not rooted. I will do the manual update tho. Once the Droid stops getting updates, then I'll root.

and I type this from my Droid.

That may not be possible. 2.1 was never actually rooted. I'd root before the update if I were you.

Hmm.. the update.zip won't be available for users who did the same with 2.1?

New Leak: How about the Most Recent Froyo build for the Droid - FRG01B
froyoupdate.png

Okay its been a while since you've had a leak, I think the last one was on the 25th of June. You must be having withdrawls. So here is your fix. This is the newest build, its dated July 14th, 2010. This leak is in the update.zip format so if your using

This is what everyone wants. You want the latest Froyo build out of Motorola but you don't want to lose root.

So here it is for you in a simple update.zip format.

To update to the newest (leaked of course) version of Froyo (Android 2.2) for the Droid follow the directions below.

1) Download the files
Direct Download -----Release Version (FRG01B)
Mirror One ----- Release Version (FRG01B)
Mirror Two ----- Release Version (FRG01B)

2) Place files on the root of your SD
3) Go into your Recovery
4) Clockwork Directions: go to install zip, find the zip on your sd card, and install
SPrecovery Directions: go to install zip, select allow update.zips (deprecated), install update.zip
5) Reboot your phone.

This file is already: Rooted with Superuser app, bash, and busybox (not installed - see below), comes with stock kernel (motorola blend)

*******This should install right over the top of FRF57, FRF84B, or and 2.2 Based ROM************

To install busybox use Android Terminal or ADB Shell

TYPE:
Code: su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
cd system/xbin
busybox --install /system/xbin/
mount -o remount,r -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system You have now installed busybox

MDW would like to extend its gratitude to CellZealot for providing us with this leak.

I am running this version on my droid, and I have to say that there is a pick up in speed. More news about what changes were made.
