droid x kernel impossible crack.

I am confused i just read a article that said that the droid x kernel can never be cracked etc... Then how are all these roms and themes being done?? So is it cracked it truly can never be?

The bootloader is locked down. So you can't change kernels like on the D1. They've worked around it so you can OC the DX anyways. The kernel and ROMs are 2 seperate things.

The "ROM's" you see around are tweaks done to apps and files. The bootloader has not been figured out. Some ROM's offer Over Clocking built into the ROM and so forth. But they are not true ROM's yet.

There are some pretty awesome ROMs and themes out there. Don't hesitate to try any of them out. They may not be "true" ROMs, but you'd never know the difference. The Droid devs are incredible! :heart:
