I've had my Droid X2 for a long time now. A while back, I broke the power button (incident with a lake and forgetful me not taking my phone out of my pocket), but the phone has always started itself whenever it is shut off. Now, recently, I lost the charger. It died over the weekend, and I figured I'd charge it when I got home with a different one. Well, there's a problem. Any time I plug it in, it doesn't go to the charge screen but goes straight to turning on instead. Originally, it would get to showing the lock screen, start booting internal storage and occasionally show me I have a new message, but then it crashes before I can even unlock it. I got a new battery from a friend, but it still won't start, and I have no idea what is wrong with it. I can answer any more questions you have, if it helps.
