Droid won't boot past the red eye, help?

My Moto droid doesn't boot past the red eye screen, and keeps looping that.

I've tried pulling out the battery and putting it back in several times.

It's currently charging and still won't turn on.

It died completely, I started to charge it, tried to turn it on, and this is what keeps happening now.

It is not rooted.

I just started having the exact same problem. It sucks.

put it on the charger for 30 min (ac, not usb) and dont touch it

then try to turn it on.
