Here's me at 50% battery life.
I've had light use today, but with launcher pro being used and an extended battery I am at 60% currently with about 17 hours of use today. I threw the power control widget on my home screen and changed the brightness to the first option after the brightness is at its lowest, which is perfectly bright enough. I also changed the mobile network to cdma and have used 3g for the majority of the day. I also have a message widget on the front screen that is used with launcher pro. Its very impressive that this thing has lasted this long regardless of the light use. I personally couldn't ask for much more.

To anyone thinking about the extended battery, def get it. Here are the stats im getting (i tried to push it a bit today). Currently at 5%
15hrs 4m on battery
Maps:25% gps 1hr 25m
Cell standby: 20% time without signal 0%
Wifi:20% 15hrs 4m
Phone Idle: 16% 11 hrs 37m
Display: 9% 3hrs 30 min (full brightness)
CarHome Ultra: 4% 9m (uses gps and keeps screen on)
Android OS: 4% CPU total 1hr 27m
Android System:3% Keep awake 13m
Also sent 30 text messages, and a couple of phone calls (very short calls, none of which were more than a minute or 2)
I'd say thats not too shabby. I've seen a noticable difference by letting the battery drain completely once, and changing to cdma only. Not sure why carhome ultra is only showing 9m, I thought I used it more than that. The web browsing I did today, and downloads from dropbox didn't even register, and I used it a decent amount while waiting for my car at the mechanic. That much GPS use would really drain other batteries fast. So again, if you are on the fence, def get the extended battery, you won't have to worry about getting through a full day.
Edit: I wasn't connected to a wifi network the whole day either. I spent about 6 hours (maybe a bit less) out and about not connected to wifi
Awesome info and write up, think ill be purchasing the extended battery this week, thanks.
I got 15hrs the other day with the standard battery and close to 5hrs screen time, no use of wifi either. Put it in nightime mode for about half of it though and is set to cdma only.
end of line...
Got the extended battery as well, it's definitely an improvement. Since the standard battery door fits on the extended battery, I'm considering getting the wireless charging door.
Moto could have used a bigger battery in this thing without making it any thicker, but they made a smaller one so we would pay another 50 for the extended.
Using the standard door with the extended battery isn't a good idea. There are reasons why they include a slightly larger door for the extended batteries, even if the standard door seems to fit. Batteries expand slightly when they get heated up, and with the standard door it will press the battery in, potentially causing a wealth of problems.
So while they certainly want you to pay up for a larger battery, they definitely would have had to make the phone a bit thicker to include the extended battery.
Does the atrix indeed have the same screen? @ 5% battery life after 11 hours of heavy use, the screen was the lowest % of the usage list @ 6%. Do atrix users see the same stats?

I have two extended batteries for my thunderbolt. I'm going to sell the new one though and don't really use the other one much anymore. I use the 1700 batteries those are good. I switch from one to the other every time the phone runs low
The battery perplexes me on this phone. Yesterday it went 14 hours on a full charge. Today I'm at 10h16m and I'm at 60%....
Ye its very weird. Today in the morning it was eating my battery alive. I literally lost about 50% in about four hours. I've been using this phone more than moderately for about 3-3.5 hours and it only lost about 12%.
Sent from my Droid Bionic.... that's just cruel.
I switched to CDMA from Global and that helped my battery some, but I right now the battery life is unacceptable. I hope there are some more settings to adjust. I went from 100% to about 10% in about 7 hours of light use.
