Wireless tether bionic/droid x

I've seen several videos recently on how to wireless tether the bionic using sqlite. My question is this... can that same exact method be used on the droid x. I have a bionic and I know that if I were to do the wireless tether it would work however I have a friend who has the droid x ans wants to tether but it seems as though verizon is blocking that phone from tethering as well in the same manner that they are with the bionic. So can it be done?

Get your friend to try it and report back. I would but my DX is at home while I'm working today. The method works great on my Bionic. I haven't used it very much so can't comment on whether or not Verizon will call you out on it...

Tried it on his DX and entitlement check is already set to 0. Don't know where to go from there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
