Thunderbolt vs Droid Bionic

You sure? Motorola's site says 1GB and the phone is branded with Verizon

The other thread has a pic of it saying 512 on the website now for some and the press release had said 512 also.

i bet they're saying 1Gb due to the 2 duel cores...

Motorola's site has been updated to show just the 512 of RAM. If you want 1GB - you will need to follow me to AT&T!!!! Atrix - here I come!

That extra RAM in the Artix is only for running that laptop extension you can dock into. The Atrix isn't going to be any better than the Bionic from what I've read and heard. If you want to go to a terrible network like at&t for some extra RAM you're not going to be able to use with just the phone alone, I would advise NOT to do it...but that's just my opinion.

I've gotta say the Bionic. My only gripe is that it's only got 2.7Gb internal memory. Granted my droid came with the 16Gb MicroSD, so I really shouldn't be complaining, but internal memory runs so much faster. Why not have it there to begin with, instead of adding in the SD?

Dolt. ROOT, Sense II, Can't take blur. HTC will have dual core in fall. I have 3 upgrades a year from all my lines.

It doesn't matter to me. As long as I have the cash to upgrade I wouldn't mind either of them. Just curious how long it will take to root either of these devices. Hopefully CVPCS will be able to get a gem on them as well!

Just fyi, the desire( which is the same thing as the the)scored 3100 quadrant being overclococked to 1.5ghz. Food for thought.

A lot of you guys are in a frenzy to snatch the hottest phone in Q1, but you should wait it out. When the Droid came out, it was already a good phone. You guys rushed over to it, and now look how many Droids are out there. There is only 1 phone that has dominated the other phones for a very long period of time, and that was Steve Job's creation.

I'm not due for an upgrade in quite some time, & I will not cancel my Droid X just to buy the hottest phone out...that'll remain the hottest phone out for 3 months before another phone is announced that'll trump it.

Spec-wise, the Bionic is better. Some prefer Sense UI, unlocked bootloader, etc etc etc. It's preference. But if we're judging the phones by the textbook, then Bionic wins.

That's kinda the point of upgrading... Why wait when you can get an awesome phone right when your upgrade is available? I could understand maybe waiting a month or two for a new device, but it sounds to me like you'rew saying "just wait until the next quarter, something better will come." That's just how technology advances. New devices are always going to be out of date within a few months.

Not really... I know quite a few people that prefer HTC devices over Motorola and Sense over Blur..

I'm one of 'em (you just didn't know me until now). I have nothing against Motorola, I just haven't owned one. I had an HTC Droid Incredible and I loved it! The only problem I had was blowing external speakers every 6 weeks. When I went in to have my 5th phone replaced due to the speaker issue, Big Red offered me an "X" or Fasinate.

The X was too bulky for my taste and battery life is crappy by the reviews. The Fascinate was advertised as having great battery life, it is very thin and fit in my pocket better so I opted for the Galaxy S Fascinate. I like it a lot, but I liked my HTC more.

Right now my vote is for the Thunderbolt, but I really have to hold the phones and play with 'em a little bit before I choose which one I will get. I just am absolutely sure I won't be getting an iSuckPhone!

Yeah, what difference does it make if I get one of the hottest phones that are out now, which will be old-news in three months, or if I wait three months to get the "new hottest phone" that will be trumped three months thereafter? It's a vicious cycle, but a cycle none the less. :)

I am leaning towards the bionic. My main dilemma right now is that I have an upgrade i can use now. I am tempted to pick up an incredible so that I can get in before vzw changes the policy on the 16th. Will the bionic be that much better? It would be nice to have one more annual upgrade.
