I know most people will just say "my friends friend's moms daughters dog said"....

But one of my good friends works at a verizon store and knows how badly I want a nexus. He is going to hold one for me so I can come in the morning of release to get one. Anyway, he had told me he would keep me in the loop of info as he gets it. Up until today he has said he hadn't heard anything. Until tonight. He said that today at work, they were told that they have a "Meeting thurs dec 8 about some new phone releases. Figure nexus has to be included. More info when I have it."
Take from that what you will. I'm hoping to god that after the 8th, he has good news.

Maybe the 11th release date is real, and they are all going to find out about it on the 8th. Give them time to prep.

i think im leaning on 8th or 9th being actual release date. Lots of evidence to it. the 11th is in the realm of possibility of sure though. on a side note, i went to vz today and talked to a rep about it. He seemed frustrated and kinda hard about it. To me it seemed like he was just as confused as everyone else is about it in regards to the release date. He didnt give me any good info but i felt confident that he really didnt know when it will release. He was hard about the issue because apparently lots of people had asked but they really don't know anything about the release date yet. So what this means to me is they havent really kept the reps really in the release date loop at all. So basically validating the possibility of a meeting on the 8th but IMO their is lots of evidence saying it will release on the 8th so idk. Well see when we see i guess.

Well, I trust the date given by the VZW regional manager. He'd be in the loop more than any of the others we've heard from. December 8th is looking good.

Latest rumor says it should be out by the end of the year. Not sure if I have any sources on that though! ;)

Swyped and sent through the interwebz directly to you from somewhere and some device that doesn't concern you!

Went to local mall and all 3 Verizon spots knew of nexus but nothing about release other then should be soon. One guy went in back and brought out 3 different cases. I liked the one like my T bolts case and belt clip it slides into. He said they got the cases yesterday. This is good news. I asked about mounts and he said that they are supposed to get night stand one for sure.

I took the seat belt off a week ago. I'm drunk on top of the car pissing on a Verizon logo at this point of the hype train.

You painted a vzw logo on the top of your car? !! ?

It's understood that vzw wants to control and limit our choices according to its own agenda. If Nexus phones sell then Google & Motorola can say, "See, people want these choices." If they sell poorly, vzw will say, "Look, this 'give people a choice' thing isn't selling phones.
So it pulls the SD card out knowing that will disproportionately bum out Nexus types more than the average Joe. Then it keeps stringing us along, like f o r e v e r, to kill our enthusiasm and take the wind out of our 'sales' so to speak -- like with Newage here. Vzw surely knows marketing - that's its business! If this is dragging out, it must be because vzw wants it to.
Meanwhile, if you just gotta buy a phone now, what does it hype? Skinny - skinny - skiinnny RAZR. What vzw is doing is stacking the sales stats against folks who want real features and substance, so it can argue that, 'As long as the phone's skinny, they'll buy it.'

I know this doesn't confirm anything, and not to burst anyone's bubble again (not that you should have a bubble of hope anymore at this point lol), but here's my convo on Twitter with PydePypper from today. Honestly I would not be surprised at all if it didn't even come out in December at this point. So hilarious, it's just ridiculous:

guts311
@P3Droid Y isn't VZW announcing a single GNex thing? If the 8th, they would have said something at this point no? Everyone is so confused..

PydePypper
@guts311 My guess is there will be no announcement until the day preOrders start which should be the 8th from what I've been told.

guts311
@PydePypper So you hear 8th for preorders and others hear 8th for release. God I wish they would just tell us, there's nothing wrong with it

PydePypper
@guts311 and think about it Best Buy pic shows no stock until 12/11. why the rush on word from them it doens't speed up the release date

guts311
@PydePypper Just because of peace of mind, so everyone online can stop wondering and plan with their money u know? Esp bc it's near Xmas

PydePypper
@guts311 IMO there is nothing to wonder about its coming and its as simple as that. understand $ part but still if U want you'll have it

guts311
@PydePypper I know, just tired of waiting. Wanted this phone and OS the minute I watched Hong Kong..

PydePypper
@guts311 Trust me you are glad it wasn't released yet. jst a few wks ago the SW was terrible still. Would have been a flop if released IMO

So does people not read any stuff like this ^ up above. I mean who says its true but obviously P3's team said it had bugs and problems and that was the cause of the delay. Its also obvious that P3 was right when he said put your money down folks, gonna be a while longer but yet no one believed him or maybe no one WANTED to believe him but so far he was correct.

We all know the Tbolt, Charge, Bionic, Razr have all suffered data problems. Maybe they are trying to make the Nexus a clean launch for once. Who says Google and Samsung didn't step in and say something about it? After Samsung announced the delay, who says it ain't on their end? And from a buisness standpoint why would u have 3 high end devices all launch in a week of each other but nothing in December? That would be ignorant really.

Idk we all have our beliefs and yes I do agree that VZW regardless should have gave us some info I just can't see VZW wanting to make this phone sell poorly, that doesn't make sense at all. Did you all forget they did pass on the hottest selling phone of the summer (GSII) for this puppy which would have had bloatware and a high sales count so why do u all thank they are terrorizing this release? They even posted up they were passing on the GSII for a future device (knowing it wouldn't have bloatware and it be unlocked) yet they knew they wouldn't want to sell it? Doesn't make sense to me but just my opinion.

Meh the longer you have to stew over very little information the more you can blow it out of proportion. At the end of the day its probably a guy in the office with a check list and a calendar picking dates based off nothing more then dates. His crowning achievement was hitting 11:11:11

I'm not sure passing on the gsII has much to do with the Nexus. I think Verizon just not get the top end devices as much as we would like to think. AT&T got the gsII and the Nexus just passed through the FCC getting ready for it to launch there. So obviously the getting the gsII didn't mean they couldn't also get the Nexus.

Yes, I'm speculating. But so is everybody. Real hard facts are in short supply. To me, it's not in the least farfetched for any corporation to sacrifice short-term profit for future market leverage. That's no different in principle than taking out a loan. What does 'loss-leader' mean?

Whatever it's doing is carefully calculated; vzw doesn't leave money laying out like that.

And it's not any technical problem. The phone is already released in other countries.

what i find funny and strange is.....
that a certain review was nothing but praise without 1 complaint of a bug.
but now the same reviewer is saying were lucky we didnt get that bug ridden piece of junk.
to me this shows as inside hype and now rage control for verizon.
how can the same person say its perfect than a month later tell us well it wasnt but now it is and be credible.
while i believe the inside info is probably as accurate as is known at the time. it is telling to me that there is some
underhanded publicity work going on here.
it also probably shows that the inside info is accurate , but accurate as to what verizon wants us to know at the time.
am i far off or does this seem off kilter to anyone else.

maybe the review was simply overlooking the bugs since it was a test device and the reviewer knew a majority of the buggyness would be fixed before the phone was released to the market? Question is why was the lte phone buggy while the eu phone seemed fine - barring the hilarious volume machine spirit.
