Opera Mini 5... HOLY CRAP IT'S FAST!

I HATE how it renders certain websites. Also I only tested it briefly but I remember it not having multitouch? I pretty much refuse to use any browsers on my phone that don't have multitouch. Some people have tried to act like multi-touch is just a gimmick and not important but they're wrong, it really is an important feature.
Why? Because you said that it was important and that's the end of it? I don't believe anyone is pretending or acting like multitouch is a gimmick. Maybe those people feel that multi-touch just isn't that important or necessary to enjoy their browsers.

Ah yes, multitouch. The first time i saw multi touch for zooming on iphones i thought it was the sickest thing ever. But after 6 months of droid browsing without one, I don't really find a lot of times where i need it. The screen on the droid is so fabulous that double tap gets the job done. There are a couple sites that have ****ty layouts where multitouch is good to have. I've been using the xscope browser and now that i have cyanogenmod the stock browser has multitouch too, i have found that multitouch is an important tool but not as important as on the iphone's inferior screen. That being said....Opera needs to step up and ad it. Theres a ton of good browsers out there and you gotta keep up with the jonses. The goal is to have all the tools everyone else and then some.

Havent used opera yet will give it a shot. SHould be interesting on the overclocked rom.

Tried it for a few minutes and it is FAST, but otherwise very unimpressive. Now if only we could get Xscope to run that fast.

You all do realize the main reason its fast because it is processed in a different computer then it sends you a compress image of the website to your phone.

Yeah its a pretty good idea that will probably be implemented more and more. Most companies think to stream music or videos to mobile devices, now we are streaming the whole internet as well in a way. Theres a lot of complex textures on sites that you wouldn't see on a mobile phone unless zoomed in extremely close, so why display them?

Mutli-touch isn't so important to me as long as I have some way of zooming in and out. I haven't noticed a problem with the google search on it but maybe that's just me. It seems ridiculously fast too. So far, none of the sites I've hit have rendered funny. When it brings up the mobile version of a page I just click the "full" version and it's there almost instantly. Maybe I'm just lucky with the sites I've hit so far, but even sites like Gizmodo that have lots of pics or even some of the boards I'm on that have galleries load really fast.

As for the bathroom comment, that starts a whole NEW discussion...:icon_eek:
haha i meant while on the john, what are YOU thinking of??
