OK, who's planning on upgrading to the Droid X

Leaning toward passing this up and sticking with my Droid right now. May save me some trouble, and I'm still so on the fence that it may be better to not try to fix what isn't broken.

Plus, with the Droid supposedly getting Froyo before X, and the possibility that my return process could be lengthy and I could then miss the first wave of pre-orders, causing me to be stuck with my Voyager for who knows how long, makes staying with my Droid a safer choice.

I'm still not 100%, though, by any means.

Yeah, I'm trying to justify it from both sides and make my decision, but for whatever reason, I get these gut feelings about phones. I had it about the Voyager two years ago when I got it, and I loved it during the time that I had it. When it came time to upgrading to the Droid, I felt the same way, like I HAD to have the phone. I looked at countless others, and none quite spoke to me the way the Droid did. I got it, and I don't regret it at all.

I'm not looking at the X and thinking "I have to have that, I wish I would have waited". Instead, it's just more of me wondering since it's a better phone, and I can get it with little penalty (a $35 restocking fee), if I should just do it.

Don't get me wrong, if the X had a physical keyboard, I'd already have boxed up my Droid and called Verizon to let them know it's coming. Even though I don't use the keyboard that much, it's the comfort of knowing that it's at least there.

i preordered mine today! but they didn't let me keep that droid x preorder paper. they said they keep it to attach to the phone when they get it? lol i guess i'm just saying that I would feel better if I had that paper with me. call me lame if you want. I just don't want to get screwed by having BB sell a phone I preordered.

That's odd, the guy who did mine was specifically told to photocopy both the form and the CC receipt and they kept the photocopy and gave me the original.

i do have my receipt and it says presell on it. so I feel good about that. I do though feel uneasy now about not having that other paper. anybody else not take that paper home?


my receipt says PRESELL BBY26LD. i'm assuming thats some ID# for the phone.

I also only got my receipt and giftcard, but they did write my name down on two lists and fill out the preorder form and had it attached to the clipboard with the list of names on it, ok well my name was the only one but i'm sure there will be more.

Also if the amount of preorder papers is how many droid x's they will have, looks like my bestbuy will have at least 50 or so.

I didn't even think about asking about the retail price, sorry. I would assume $599 at the most.

I did read somewhere else that a retail price of $600 has been confirmed. Selling my Droid, multimedia dock, car dock, and Seidio case will take care of a decent chunk. I don't think it will end up costing me much more than the $199 upgrade price after selling all that stuff. Then I will still have an upgrade available next year in case some amazing super phone does actually get released!
