Next System Update…3.0.0 for D2

I know everyone has Gingerbread on their minds, and that probably will be coming. But I have a feeling we will be seeing this first.

I don't know if this is going to be a big deal to people. You will lose your "Drooooid." and it has a different UI. But this could be what you get next. I've been running it for two days. Beautiful Widgets has just been killing my battery.

there is a discussion about this in the roms section... I think we need P3Droid to chime in some more on this one tho... Just so people don't get themselves hosed by performing the update then trying to SBF, as this new version updates the kernel as well. This is basically the same Blur as found on the Droid Pro, with the profiles and advanced dialer...

Hmmm…Interesting, that seemed to be one of the many details that was left out about this particular upated to me. And may explain what I consider a pretty short battery life.

That's exactly what I did and the reason I did it was the battery life was bad, but amazingly enough it seemed that for some reason Beautiful Widgets was the culprit.

I don't know if this is user error or not but it seemed like I was frequently finding the phone unlocked and the display on an incredible amount of times. That would probably explain BW using battery like that.

Anyway, on a positive note I did notice that the battery usage was fixed. I didn't have any problems with fc with 3.0.0. I showed the difference in appearance on the UI. Not a heck of a lot of difference beyond that I saw.

To answer one other question someone asked me how I got it, P3Droid was asking some people on twitter if they wanted to try something new for the D2. I didn't realize it was a system update until after I got it (not before I installed it).

One minor issue after the sbf. Amazon mp3 keeps popping up all the time with a fc. I have a copy of that so I deleted it, when the next update does arrive I'll reinstall it at that time. After going back to version 2.3.20 I immediately rooted again.

Another odd thing is the kernel broke root explorer and wont let you mount to system. I. Had to mount to system through terminal using mtdblock4 it didn't work using the usual way mmcblk1p21.

I would guess that Verizon won't pass this version. But I could be very wrong, who knows?

It seems to me that changes are made without changing the actual system number in this Android world. So maybe a couple of tweaks and it will happen.

I have no idea where he got it. However if you know anything about P3Droid he's pretty much on top of everything.

I felt that I was having too many issues with the battery. Maybe the kernel is running high. I don't know. All I know is that I had no problem with battery manager. It never force closed on me like it does now.

I have been running just the kernel all day with 3.0 and then with 2.3.20 unplugged at 6am now 2:30pm at 5%.but I was at a job with low service.

Now this was refreshing that someone doesn't know who I am and what TBH does. And where the files come from is a mystery that we don't talk about.

how would 3.0 come out before 2.3? or is that just system update 3.0 not referingto the OS
