I can't wait to see the posts at 11:59 on 07/12:

Did anyone get the update yet?
(repeat question 75 times in a row)

I heard that "X" in from Chicago in the other forum got it!
(next 20 posts asking for confirmation)

Did anyone get the update yet?
(repeat 80 times)

Repeat all of that chain of posts for days and days. Then everyone gets sick of waiting and no longer cares... Then it gets released.

My kingdom for an edit button!

Whats funny is how people will try to figure out how it's being distributed. They think there is some type of method of distribution when in fact it's totally random. And no matter how many times I post it, this time included, it will be ignored and the investigation will continue.

I find it amusing that I am reading in the news a stupid rumor someone posted about 7/13. We have pictures from Verizon saying late July.

Okay.....
I know this question has been asked a million times......but i haven't seen it on this thread.

If I allow the upgrade to Froyo by Verizon, will it CLEANLY overwrite my rooted Droid running BB 1.1?

Then I just go through the whole root process again, load a new rom and then use Titanium Backup to restore?

Yes and no. Yes, it will overwrite your rooted Droid to a 2.2 unrooted status. But no, because if you're running BB 1.1 you will not get 2.2 OTA, since the ROM you're using is blocking the OTA's.

You will need to go back to stock 2.1 or wait until somebody posts a direct download link to the final 2.2.

Thanks a ton for that answer. That explains it.
