I just made my Bionic 50% faster.

Un-installed The Weather Channel app. It was one of the first ones I installed when I got my phone, so I was always used to the phones performance with it running. On a whim, I un-installed it.

Can't believe the performance difference. The home screen in particular seems significantly more responsive. The pattern unlock screen is faster too.

Now, if I want to see the weather, I just look outside.

Were you using their widget? I use the regular app without the widget and don't have any issues with it.

Mine seems quick as lightning with it both installed or uninstalled. I don't use the widget though. I even have a link to twc app on my lock screen, I use it all the time.

Maybe it was the widget slowing it down.
In any case, the reason I uninstalled it was the new permissions required with the latest upgrade. Its pretty invasive for an app thats only giving you the weather.

My favorite weather app for Android is WeatherBug. It has tons of info including radar maps, but it doesn't hog resources.
