anyone else seeing the signal bars completely disappear?

the signal bars will just randomly drop completely (blank). the phone call i'm on will drop and the data doesn't work when it happens. i turn the phone off then on and the bars come back again. airplane mode on/.off doesn't work.

it's only been happening the last two days and i'm just trying to figure out if it's the phone or verizon's network again.
