Helps knowing resources like Pelican parts, Sunset Porsche (dealership with excellent pricing) as well as online forums such as Rennlist... I'm fine buying OE/Manufacturer Approved Porsche parts. Owning a Porsche doesn't necessarily mean a high price point, especially when it comes to the *simpler* air-cooled 911s. Being mechanically inclined and doing your own work whenever possible is not only cost savings, but personally rewarding as well.

You wanna talk about doing your own work? :D I know how much money it saves

Eh, to each their own. :) I love working on my Chevy. When it's not being a female dog, that is. My entire family on my mom's side are into Fords. My "uncle" on my dad's side is a circle track racer, so he's a Chevy guy. If anyone can build a motor, he can. I'd love to start racing...

BUT, I wouldn't mind having a '67/'68 Shelby Fastback.

Lol yeah. My dream car is a 1970 Dodge Charger with a 440. Blown, preferably.

Oops, wrong thread. I only got a'69 charger. Little old 383 (revs about 2000 rpm higher than a 440)
Never could bring myself to cut about 1000 pounds of metal off of it to get the ET's down.
383 car knife edge crank 11.5 TRW pistons. .320/620 roller cam weiland tunnel ram dual Holley 660's ( dual feed) chrome everything braided steel lines everywhere. Money pit from hell. P O's me when people bug my butt why I don't drive it.

I'd love to put a 383 stroker in my truck.

I want 444 stroker, so I can put my matching number hood back on and have it look stock.

Still don't relish the thought of driving it, not many OE parts left to put them back together again.

I used to tune bikes in my garage at night and came to the conclusion that bikes that make more noise only do that well. A 105 decibel bike will run a 15 second quarter mile, a 110 decibel bike will run a 20 second quarter mile. My vacuum cleaner bike will run a 11.23 all day. Moral of the story loud butt poo only gives the appearance of going fast.

Haha, yeah. I only like loud engines if they have the power to back it up.
