What does Backup Assistant actually backup?

This came with the phone. Can I restore my apps after unlocking the bootloader (is there anything that will?)? Does it backup data from SDcard2 (is there anything that will?)?

I guess my real question is...Is there anything I can use to get me back to where I was before I unlock?

I tried that backup when I was about to switch from the Inc. to the Rezound. The only thing it backed up was contacts...nothing more. So I use MybackupPro. Back it up to the ext. SD card and load it back to the new phone. I would've been nice to be able to back everything up.
