Shock and awe are the order of the day after you read this. There will be a Developer Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S5, but that's not the surprising news. The odd news is that this Developer Edition of the Galaxy S5 will be specific to Verizon. Samsung listed the device, with model number ET-G900VMKA, on their US website.

Of course, we can expect it to have an unlocked bootloader, because it wouldn't be a Dev Edition without that really. As usual, the rest of the specs are identical to the regular retail version. There's no price listed yet, but we expect it to fetch a price between $600 and $700. Although this is unconfirmed, it appears the Dev Edition will only come in black.

No matter how nice of a gesture this appears to be, you're still getting disrespected by the price.

And don't forget... If it breaks under warranty you get a locked down standard model as the replacement.
